......................................................................
[00:00.21]It feels like a storm is raging
[00:02.40]I guess you could say we're like small giants on stage
[00:05.54]I'm a rock star
[00:06.56]
[00:07.66]Let's enjoy the ride
[00:08.98]
[00:14.90]We'll take the world by storm with "LALALALA" in 2023
[00:19.08]Stray Kids is back
[00:20.66]
[00:21.82]We're finally back with a new album
[00:23.60]I'm sure you've all been waiting
[00:25.81]
[00:28.19]I think this is our first time
[00:30.58]filming the intro
[00:33.21]in the recording studio
[00:34.64]It's nice to be back in this small space
[00:37.36]
[00:38.39]I think we'll be able to have an honest conversation
[00:40.44]
[00:40.93]I remember back when
[00:42.49]
[00:42.100]we filmed the intro in our dorm
[00:46.17]
[00:46.43]In the room Changbin and I shared
[00:49.54]
[00:50.22]I remember putting our things aside and filming it in the room
[00:54.67]
[00:55.08]It's been a while since we filmed an intro in this recording studio
[00:59.54]Back then, I was wearing glasses
[01:01.58]and wearing a Camp cap backwards
[01:04.46]
[01:04.87]when we filmed the intro
[01:06.31]It feels strange to be back here
[01:08.70]
[01:09.53]This year, we got to meet
[01:13.29]
[01:13.68]many of our STAY
[01:15.26]in a much larger venue
[01:17.47]We hadn't been able to meet STAY for a while
[01:20.69]
[01:21.27]but this year gave us the chance to quench our desire
[01:24.30]
[01:25.12]and prove what we've done
[01:30.52]to so many people
[01:31.73]
[01:32.23]That's why I'm looking forward to this comeback more than ever
[01:36.36]It still doesn't feel real
[01:39.100]
[01:40.21]We've never done a concert this big
[01:44.82]
[01:45.20]so I'm still nervous
[01:48.61]First of all, this album
[01:50.79]includes songs that capture the powerful sound
[01:55.20]you've come to expect from SKZ
[01:58.69]Some easy listening songs as well
[02:00.83]We have a variety of songs
[02:02.43]That variety makes us
[02:05.05]feel like rock stars
[02:06.60]
[02:06.97]Personally, I think
[02:08.92]the term "rock star"
[02:10.17]
[02:11.23]isn't just about
[02:12.83]
[02:13.20]playing the guitar, headbanging
[02:15.77]or dressing like a rock star
[02:19.80]To me, a "rock star"
[02:22.99]isn't any of that
[02:24.47]A rock star is a "free spirit"
[02:25.60]
[02:26.19]A rock star is
[02:28.07]an important artist
[02:30.47]
[02:31.36]that represents the current era
[02:34.66]Our group is called "Stray Kids" after all
[02:38.28]so I feel like the term really suits
[02:42.29]
[02:42.78]our rebellious identity
[02:44.98]That would be Hyunjin
[02:46.29]I really admire the way
[02:48.48]he expresses himself so authentically on stage
[02:52.34]Being on the stage
[02:54.78]gives me a huge rush of endorphins
[02:59.15]and fills me with so much confidence
[03:01.63]In that sense I guess I do feel like a rock star
[03:04.82]I feel like a rock star when I'm on stage
[03:06.68]Seungmin is like a true rock star
[03:08.37]Even in his day-to-day he's like a rock star
[03:11.58]When he's singing...
[03:14.10]His personality and aura
[03:16.86]
[03:17.16]might seem soft
[03:19.44]but Seungmin was the first person to break
[03:23.01]my stereotype
[03:24.02]He's surprisingly a free spirit
[03:26.62]
[03:26.93]He knows how to speak his mind
[03:30.22]even more so than Changbin
[03:33.09]
[03:33.40]He has this sort of...
[03:35.03]If you have a rock spirit within you
[03:37.06]
[03:37.44]you guys are the true rock stars
[03:39.66]
[03:41.95]Our album "ROCK-STAR"
[03:43.68]
[03:45.42]brings me back to our "God's Menu" era
[03:49.85]
[03:50.87]This album is filled
[03:52.75]with music that can showcase
[03:55.36]
[03:55.90]our physical power and strong stage presence
[03:58.94]It's a powerful album
[04:00.68]"5-STAR" is like a score
[04:04.27]It might be a standard for how others evaluate us
[04:07.41]or a standard for how we evaluate ourselves
[04:09.52]But our inner "ROCK-STAR" goes beyond evaluations
[04:12.75]I think they're different genres
[04:14.84]For "5-STAR," we made up our minds
[04:17.05]to show you our "5-STAR" effort
[04:20.22]But for "ROCK-STAR"
[04:21.68]we're showing us as we are
[04:24.54]Our unfiltered free spirit
[04:27.34]That's how I see it
[04:28.66]
[04:33.17]I love "MEGAVERSE"
[04:34.56]This was made very intentionally
[04:37.61]There's a BPM change in the middle
[04:39.48]
[04:41.87]It gradually speeds up
[04:43.80]When we go from one BPM
[04:45.72]to another
[04:48.21]there's usually a pause in the middle
[04:50.64]but we tried to make the change gradual
[04:54.28]
[04:57.04]That's how we made it
[04:59.30]- "Wel" doesn't have to sound too strong - Got it
[05:01.78]
[05:03.56]- We'll gradually increase the power - Yes!
[05:05.54]
[05:11.47]The space between words could be a bit shorter
[05:13.70]Okay
[05:14.64]The words could be shorter
[05:16.34]
[05:17.51]Shorter?
[05:18.45]Just a little bit
[05:19.33]
[05:23.70]Alright, we'll keep that and try a few more times
[05:25.66]
[05:32.14]And in terms of song arrangement
[05:34.83]
[05:35.06]The title of the song is "MEGAVERSE"
[05:37.50]and in a way, it can seem like a multiverse
[05:40.07]Because the various universes
[05:42.40]make up one big universe
[05:46.22]we took samples and sources from each universe
[05:51.80]and highlighted that when arranging the song
[05:55.91]
[05:56.50]I really liked "MEGAVERSE"
[05:59.91]
[06:00.89]I still do
[06:02.26]The grandness
[06:03.42]
[06:03.84]and the scale
[06:04.72]"LALALALA" has a more exciting
[06:06.38]and lively type of grandness
[06:09.42]while "MEGAVERSE" has a heavier type of grandness
[06:14.74]Even if they're both grand
[06:16.22]the song can clearly be differentiated from "LALALALA"
[06:19.43]as well as the performance
[06:20.72]On the set
[06:23.13]we tried some interesting angles
[06:25.26]There's a scene where the actor Seunghoon
[06:26.93]is sitting down and I glare at him
[06:30.35]At that moment
[06:31.86]he's blasted backward
[06:34.71]It was made with CGI
[06:36.77]and it turned out so cool
[06:39.25]He had a wire behind him
[06:42.26]which was pulled to make it look like
[06:46.95]I pushed him with my superpower
[06:50.13]
[06:50.67]It looked really cool
[06:51.97]It stars someone I like
[06:54.09]
[06:54.80]I have
[06:56.19]
[06:56.61]a certain connection
[06:57.77]with that person
[06:58.94]
[07:00.36]This could be a huge spoiler
[07:02.42]but you won't be disappointed
[07:04.15]And as you all know
[07:06.81]the universe is constantly expanding
[07:09.38]You know this, right?
[07:10.21]Just like the universe is expanding
[07:13.18]Stray Kids is too
[07:15.18]Our musical spectrum
[07:17.37]is constantly expanding just like the universe
[07:20.19]That's the message I wanted to convey
[07:23.98]
[07:26.56]Last November
[07:28.31]It's been a year now
[07:30.63]That's when we made "LALALALA"
[07:33.65]Initially
[07:34.73]this song wasn't recorded for this album
[07:36.17]We had planned to include it in the "5-STAR" album as a B-side track
[07:39.55]"LALALALA" was written as a title track
[07:44.55]But at the time, we thought
[07:47.66]"S-Class" was a better fit for us
[07:51.36]so we recorded "LALALALA" as a B-side track for that album
[07:55.87]But as we were recording
[07:58.12]I thought...
[08:00.12]
[08:00.92]I really wanted to perform this on stage
[08:02.07]I thought this was a song
[08:03.94]that could really show the energy that SKZ can bring
[08:08.22]to the music and to the stage
[08:10.22]so I called the company in the middle of recording
[08:12.87]I called the higher-ups
[08:15.11]and said, "I wish we could keep this song"
[08:18.34]The song that we included instead of "LALALALA"
[08:20.94]was "ITEM"
[08:22.56]It's not "rock" as in the music genre It means "pleasure"
[08:25.00]Still, it's a word play on the word "rock" using a homophone
[08:29.04]Some of us in 3RACHA said
[08:32.63]we'd like to play up the band sound
[08:34.56]so I remember adding in
[08:36.86]
[08:37.66]guitar sounds later on
[08:39.37]We made some revisions to the song
[08:40.88]We wanted to emphasize
[08:42.40]the part where everyone
[08:45.25]sings along
[08:46.96]
[08:47.37]Initially "Lalalala la lalalala"
[08:51.23]was only included before the hook
[08:55.96]but we added it to the entire hook as background vocals
[08:58.75]
[09:00.26]Like this
[09:01.81]
[09:02.22]So that everyone can sing along
[09:04.53]like the Stray Kids "Anthem"
[09:06.37]3RACHA said they were into one-syllable titles
[09:09.57]In songwriting, the title is so important
[09:12.89]I think one-syllable titles give a strong impact
[09:17.55]and considering our overall concept and strengths
[09:22.30]"S-Class" and "LALALALA" go together very well
[09:26.32]That's why we chose it as our title track
[09:29.29]"S-Class"
[09:30.23]is lighter than our usual songs
[09:33.43]It feels like a mix of different genres
[09:37.23]with a strong focus on sounding catchy
[09:40.00]On the other hand, "LALALALA"
[09:41.15]is a song with a flow
[09:42.85]and our new energy
[09:45.38]
[09:45.81]and an aura that can dominate the stage
[09:50.02]When I first saw the title without the Chinese character
[09:53.96]I assumed it meant "ROCK" as in the music genre
[09:56.19]
[09:56.76]But after listening to the song I realized that wasn't the case
[10:00.40]It was actually the Chinese character for "pleasure"
[10:03.81]People experience a multitude of emotions throughout their lives
[10:07.77]Joy, anger, sorrow, pleasure...
[10:09.93]In the end
[10:11.74]I hope the emotion we choose is "pleasure"
[10:16.28]I hope it would be happiness
[10:18.68]That was my intention for this song
[10:21.49]
[10:21.86]Of course, they're all good emotions
[10:23.16]and emotions you must feel in life but while you're listening to this song
[10:27.00]I hope you focus on the feeling of "pleasure"
[10:31.74]Our songs don't normally
[10:35.14]
[10:35.43]have a melodic tune in the chorus
[10:37.90]so hearing the melodic chorus
[10:41.42]was a pleasant surprise
[10:45.86]Personally, I think STAY
[10:47.49]
[10:48.55]will love singing along to this song
[10:50.16]
[10:50.54]We cranked up the energy in this song
[10:53.20]so we could sing it energetically
[10:56.12]like rock stars
[10:57.60]
[10:57.82]That's how I directed the song
[11:00.09]We had already recorded the song once
[11:03.29]and when this song became the title track
[11:05.33]I had some parts I wanted to fix
[11:09.15]
[11:10.06]so I ended up recording the whole thing again
[11:12.30]
[11:12.71]Since this became our title track I added more power to the falsetto parts
[11:17.50]and sang in a full voice
[11:20.06]Let's use the original version for "Cause we will"
[11:22.29]and starting from "make" I'll sing with a full voice
[11:24.32]Can I slide in two punches in there?
[11:26.76]Okay, let's start from "will"
[11:28.07]Yes, yes
[11:29.12]
[11:33.52]By the way
[11:34.62]This is just an idea, but right now I'm singing "Rock" with vibrato
[11:37.82]- You can remove that - Can I try removing the vibrato
[11:39.70]and make the ending sound tougher?
[11:41.16]- The last note? - Sounds good
[11:42.68]For the title track
[11:44.27]I think it will sound better without the vibration
[11:46.08]I'll make it sound less pretty
[11:47.58]
[11:52.10]I loved that rhythm
[11:53.58]- Rock... - Did it sound too high?
[11:55.20]Maybe we could just add the vibration
[11:57.24]- Then instead of a pretty vibrato - Right, right
[11:59.98]- I can make it sound irregular - Exactly
[12:02.03]
[12:06.84]"Cause we will make it rock"
[12:09.24]There's a part that goes like this
[12:10.40]The lines after that were mostly sung in falsetto
[12:13.87]but I suggested reducing the falsetto
[12:17.54]and singing it in a full voice instead
[12:20.60]so I tried it in the booth and it sounded pretty good
[12:23.27]so I proposed making some revisions to the title track
[12:28.39]Luckily, our kind producers accepted my idea
[12:33.19]so I was happy with the result
[12:37.13]
[12:37.56]This performance
[12:41.50]is really intense
[12:44.81]I feel like
[12:46.10]
[12:47.10]The intensity doesn't build up gradually
[12:49.91]It starts off intense and gets even more intense
[12:52.16]
[12:53.76]It's not 0 to 100
[12:56.76]It's 100 to 200
[13:00.36]The moves are really big too
[13:02.95]We have to know where to exert our power
[13:05.60]And the chorus...
[13:07.10]It's grueling
[13:08.32]"They're really pushing the limits"
[13:11.53]
[13:12.19]"They're giving it their all" That's how the final chorus feels like
[13:16.71]Every time I listen to a song
[13:19.31]I can picture the choreography in my head
[13:21.69]and how I want it to feel
[13:24.27]When I listened to this song
[13:26.88]I thought we could really use a choreography team
[13:30.91]to bring out the song's full potential
[13:35.19]We were actively involved in creating the performance
[13:39.33]I was under this pressure to make it better than "S-Class"
[13:43.25]so for the performance
[13:45.00]I was in charge of mixing and editing the draft video
[13:48.14]I collected ideas from all eight members
[13:50.58]It was the first time that all eight of us gathered to discuss a song
[13:54.39]I'm happy we get to perform
[13:56.72]"LALALALA" with the dancers
[14:02.23]I think it will really amplify the strength and energy of "LALALALA"
[14:06.95]Ever since "District 9" things are getting more challenging
[14:12.04]I guess it means we're breaking out of our boundaries
[14:14.86]growing, and getting stronger
[14:17.79]I hope you cover the song
[14:19.24]Challenges are a thing these days
[14:21.07]But apart from challenges
[14:23.12]I'd like to see you cover
[14:25.68]the whole three minutes
[14:27.34]I'll be looking forward to your covers
[14:29.78]This was a real challenge
[14:31.57]The choreography is so demanding
[14:35.89]and to get used to it you have to dance with strength
[14:38.29]I remember we were all shouting as we were dancing
[14:41.97]We had that part playing on repeat
[14:45.07]So if we were all sitting down
[14:46.84]I'd play the music and the members would run out to dance
[14:49.66]
[14:51.27]But we had lots of fun
[14:54.65]We actually enjoyed it
[14:56.54]
[15:12.25]Is this your hardest song so far?
[15:14.51]The hardest!
[15:15.64]"S-Class"
[15:17.10]So far, our songs would have a catchy riff, like
[15:20.15]DU DU DU DU DU DU
[15:21.44]MANIAC
[15:22.28]We always had a catchy point
[15:25.28]but with "LALALALA"
[15:26.18]the performance itself is the point
[15:29.74]Would you get it if I said it feels like we're throwing a ball at you?
[15:34.54]Do you get it?
[15:36.02]It's a performance that shoots forward
[15:39.87]But if you want to find the points within that
[15:41.96]There's Changbin's part
[15:43.24]
[15:45.05]That goes like this
[15:46.08]You wouldn't know what I'm referring to, right?
[15:47.62]I want you to be curious
[15:48.79]
[15:51.92]I think this is our point move
[15:56.42]It's energetic
[15:57.73]
[15:58.15]and sends the message "This is how we're going to show our strengths"
[16:02.64]There's a part near the end that'll take your breath away
[16:06.07]
[16:06.46]It's the part where Felix goes like this and he did such a good job
[16:10.24]It's going to make a huge impact
[16:13.20]The music video
[16:16.31]is about a clash of emotions and ultimately, pleasure wins
[16:20.65]Those who can have fun are the true winners
[16:22.53]
[16:22.81]That's my motto and the story lined up with it
[16:26.52]It does seem like a fight
[16:28.38]Because we filmed it ourselves
[16:32.70]We're all the same people in a team
[16:35.96]It felt like the music video was showing everyone's inner side
[16:40.58]All the emotions are colliding
[16:42.77]Like the film "Inside Out"
[16:44.28]In the end, "pleasure" is the biggest emotion
[16:48.48]
[16:48.69]and it enables us
[16:51.81]to go on with our lives
[16:53.14]That's how I felt
[16:54.62]
[16:55.22]It was really intriguing
[16:56.69]Something really cool was
[16:58.48]we had so many dancers dancing with us
[17:02.90]I thought, 'How would we get them all in the frame?'
[17:06.44]But there was
[17:08.90]a famous drone director on set
[17:11.70]who flew drones to film all the supporting actors
[17:17.48]That was a memorable moment
[17:20.10]Seeing a drone
[17:22.33]filming our "LALALALA" choreography and performance
[17:27.34]made me realize how much technology has improved
[17:31.15]What a useful electronic device!
[17:33.04]
[17:33.34]It's a good song to listen to whenever
[17:37.45]When you're happy you'll go, "That's awesome!"
[17:40.15]
[17:40.55]That's how I feel too
[17:41.90]When you're sad
[17:43.51]'I'm sad, but this is fun'
[17:46.59]'This is pretty fun... Why am I moving to the rhythm?
[17:49.28]
[17:50.29]That's how this song is like
[17:52.10]We have what we call a work song
[17:54.56]I think this can be categorized as a work song
[17:57.56]because it fills you up with energy
[18:01.35]It's a song you can go crazy to
[18:06.24]
[18:06.36]The image we want to portray
[18:09.01]through "LALALALA"
[18:11.03]is SKZ itself
[18:13.65]Just like the SKZ you know
[18:15.37]we want to run around
[18:16.78]
[18:18.07]get lost
[18:19.24]and show you how we enjoy the music and the stage
[18:23.05]I hope you can have fun with us
[18:25.24]Everyone has a different way
[18:28.02]of expressing pleasure
[18:29.23]
[18:29.82]We wanted to show
[18:31.88]SKZ's way of expressing pleasure
[18:35.76]
[18:37.55]My favorite song in this album
[18:39.86]and a song I think many people can relate to
[18:42.84]is the song called "BLIND SPOT"
[18:45.82]'How should we write this song?'
[18:49.80]'What makes a song good?'
[18:51.61]
[18:52.02]Within 3RACHA
[18:53.59]
[18:54.41]we had a lot on our minds
[18:57.59]After making the first demo
[19:00.72]and listening to the finished version
[19:02.33]I think I cried in bed at night
[19:04.60]I...
[19:05.76]
[19:06.04]got very emotional listening to this song
[19:09.52]There's a part that goes "Not everything is as it seems, hidden in the blind spot"
[19:13.37]Even if we look cool on stage
[19:15.15]
[19:16.06]Even if we don't show it
[19:17.96]
[19:19.05]we're always competing
[19:22.28]and to survive in the competition
[19:24.23]we have to
[19:25.67]
[19:26.27]constantly evolve and improve
[19:30.16]That's what all our members think
[19:32.37]We're not asking for sympathy
[19:34.41]but we just wanted you to know what's going on
[19:37.82]The lyrics are so relatable
[19:39.79]At first, it made me sad
[19:43.04]but eventually, the song
[19:47.06]gave me the courage
[19:50.66]
[19:51.56]to keep going forward
[19:53.80]This isn't just about us
[19:55.69]We just happen to be standing in front of the camera
[19:58.29]So many people are working hard out of the spotlight
[20:02.28]and their efforts won't go unseen
[20:07.60]This song can be about all the scenarios
[20:12.18]
[20:12.59]that exist in this world
[20:14.53]That's what makes it so relatable and sad at the same time
[20:18.66]
[20:19.44]Even though I wrote the song
[20:21.50]I'm comforted by the thought that I'm not the only one who feels this way
[20:26.65]
[20:27.50]It's a strange song that evokes so many emotions
[20:32.27]I had the most fun recording "BLIND SPOT"
[20:34.50]I was able to show
[20:36.52]everything that I had practiced
[20:38.93]The pre-hook
[20:41.01]has a challenging melody line
[20:44.20]
[20:44.40]I had a hard time with it
[20:46.63]
[20:47.14]so I practiced similar songs
[20:49.78]and thanks to that I think I was able to
[20:55.61]pull it off in "BLIND SPOT"
[20:57.42]
[20:57.83]I was so proud
[20:59.46]
[21:04.38]Sounds good
[21:05.45]I'll move on to the chorus
[21:07.12]
[21:16.37]You were amazing
[21:17.90]
[21:18.40]The song made me realize that hard work really pays off
[21:23.08]
[21:23.47]That's why "BLIND SPOT" is a special song for me
[21:27.80]
[21:28.39]If you're going through a hard time
[21:30.44]or if you feel stuck while chasing your dreams
[21:32.95]I hope you give this song a listen
[21:36.41]
[21:37.21]I think this song will lift you up
[21:40.68]
[21:42.50]This song incorporates
[21:43.76]a lot of rock elements, which I like
[21:45.94]Personally
[21:47.24]I think this song is as good as the title track
[21:51.16]It's one of my favorite songs
[21:53.03]It's another SKZ-style word play
[21:55.46]
[21:55.96]You can already tell by the title
[22:00.26]It means "We flex our complex"
[22:03.100]It's a play on the pronunciation
[22:04.80]We made up a new word called "COMFLEX"
[22:08.57]Everybody has their flaws
[22:12.46]but that's what makes them special
[22:15.01]and we have nothing to hide!
[22:19.88]We can turn our weaknesses into strengths
[22:22.82]We flex what others consider a complex
[22:26.32]So don't mess with us!
[22:28.10]It's a song about self-confidence
[22:31.52]The chorus is really interesting
[22:33.67]Changbin had sung the guide
[22:36.98]and there's a part that goes "Hm"
[22:39.57]That part was so hard to listen to
[22:41.57]It was so annoying
[22:42.44]
[22:43.35]Hm
[22:44.37]What does it mean?
[22:45.64]We have a lot of flaws
[22:47.07]but that's what makes us special
[22:48.76]I always like to cause trouble
[22:51.34]so the members say "Not again, I.N"
[22:53.53]But I think
[22:55.51]STAY will find it charming
[22:59.45]
[23:00.55]and...
[23:01.63]
[23:02.89]trigger a protective instinct
[23:04.28]
[23:12.38]In "COMFLEX"
[23:13.87]there's a dynamic rhythm variation
[23:16.66]and those elements
[23:17.82]
[23:18.60]make it a fun listen
[23:20.33]It was a fun song to sing
[23:22.52]and the song
[23:24.53]uses a lot of vocal techniques
[23:30.33]I always think about how I can make the song fun
[23:33.89]
[23:34.49]and which parts I should sing with more power
[23:39.60]and "COMFLEX" was a song I put the most thought into
[23:43.84]It's a song I can sing
[23:47.10]as SKZ's vocalist
[23:48.29]So singing "COMFLEX"
[23:52.39]was a pleasure
[23:54.29]It was fun
[23:55.30]
[23:57.25]This song is more special
[23:59.39]
[23:59.78]because it's the first B-side track I wrote
[24:04.18]Initially, I was taken aback by the grandness of the track
[24:08.58]because I usually prefer minimal songs
[24:11.71]But somehow
[24:13.72]I was able to come up with a good top line and hook
[24:17.13]After finishing the song
[24:19.62]I recorded it with Chan in his recording booth
[24:23.59]We filled the second verse with Chan's verses
[24:27.48]and that's how this song came about
[24:29.38]I remember Chan's voice being in the demo
[24:34.29]I was impressed by the chemistry of their voices
[24:38.39]It was a shame to cover it up with all of our voices
[24:41.90]That's how much I liked the demo
[24:43.70]I still listen to it
[24:45.10]Even if we use the same guitar sound
[24:47.67]Hyunjin has a way of making
[24:50.78]the energy inside him to flow freely in his body
[24:55.59]Rather than power
[24:57.97]this song leaves a lingering sense of sadness
[25:01.45]Asking something to be hidden means
[25:05.32]if the sights you're seeing
[25:07.72]or the environment you're in
[25:10.76]make you feel anxious
[25:12.75]someone can hide them for you
[25:15.36]That feeling
[25:18.52]
[25:19.32]changes every day
[25:21.03]I drew inspiration from
[25:23.83]
[25:24.37]one of Hyunjin's lonely days
[25:26.36]and it inspired me to come up with a song
[25:32.68]that people could resonate with
[25:34.74]Among our melodical and deeper songs
[25:39.43]this is the first time
[25:41.46]
[25:42.62]we have a part where we pour all our emotions out in the end
[25:46.90]That was the first part
[25:50.98]that I recorded
[25:54.32]I did it in one take
[25:56.50]We kept the first recording
[25:58.35]and sang it two more times
[26:00.48]but the first one was the best so we went with the one-take version
[26:04.41]Since I listened to the song before going into record
[26:08.02]
[26:08.43]I was able to reflect on the emotions
[26:11.24]and carry them into the song
[26:13.31]- Ready? - Yes
[26:14.65]- Okay, let's sing it a few times - Okay
[26:16.42]
[26:30.32]I think we're good
[26:31.37]
[26:31.71]Should we give it a listen?
[26:32.83]
[26:45.63]It's so grand
[26:46.95]The guide was sung in falsetto
[26:49.54]but I got greedy
[26:51.68]I was in the vocal room alone with Lee Know
[26:53.81]and I asked him if he could hit the notes in a full voice
[26:55.67]We were talking
[26:56.73]and I asked him to try it in a full voice and it actually worked
[26:59.55]Back then, I had
[27:01.84]a work appointment so I couldn't join the directing
[27:05.61]so I left Chan
[27:07.04]a note saying
[27:08.48]"I want this part to sound like this and that part to sound like that"
[27:11.16]and Chan directed the song in my place
[27:14.05]As soon as I came back to Korea I went to the recording studio
[27:16.49]and listened to the songs and they were so good
[27:19.21]I was so happy with t...........
