[00:00.00]I'm so excited
[00:01.28]I'm really confident about this song
[00:03.06]
[00:05.41]When all eight of us are together, everything seems to work out
[00:08.67]That's the problem
[00:09.88]I think that's the unknown force that's put us where we are now
[00:15.15]
[00:16.85]Right, time really does fly
[00:19.33]I've done so much that I don't even remember the things I did
[00:22.29]We had an end of year performance in January
[00:25.14]We got our first long vacation in February
[00:29.70]We prepared for a fan meeting in March
[00:32.33]and had our fan meeting at Japan in April
[00:35.52]or fan event, to be precise
[00:36.53]Starting from May
[00:38.56]we released "Lose My Breath" and started promotions in the US
[00:42.34]and prepared our "Chk Chk Boom" album
[00:46.35]As the teasers are being released
[00:47.97]we're putting our heart and soul into our "ATE" album
[00:51.34]For this album
[00:53.30]
[00:54.11]we really wanted to show everything we had
[00:57.60]"They ATE"
[00:58.70]"They ATE it up"
[01:00.08]It's the expression "ATE"
[01:02.95]Even in English
[01:04.69]when you do great on stage
[01:06.63]people say "you ATE"
[01:09.95]"We're finally back, and the eight of us ATE"
[01:13.42]with "ATE"
[01:14.43]"We're back"
[01:15.64]We wanted it to have that meaning
[01:17.42]and in our own way, we put that
[01:19.88]into this one word
[01:22.85]As for 3RACHA
[01:24.35]once we have our comeback, we write songs for the next album
[01:27.52]so we were actually working
[01:29.72]since last October, or November
[01:32.42]on this "ATE" album
[01:34.88]We've been through lots of trial and error
[01:37.30]probably our most so far
[01:40.17]Whatever song we made, we kept comparing it to our previous work
[01:45.24]and we weren't satisfied
[01:47.18]so we kept making new things and editing
[01:50.90]I think we went through a lot of that for this album in particular
[01:55.28]At this point
[01:57.43]we couldn't help but yearn for more
[01:59.60]and since we wanted to do more
[02:01.06]we tried a lot of music that strayed away
[02:04.58]from the typical Stray Kids style
[02:07.37]Because of that, we ended up
[02:09.41]with a lot of music genres
[02:11.75]that Stray Kids hadn't tried before
[02:15.22]As for concerns, I thought "is it right to make an album like this?"
[02:20.06]So we worked on an album for months
[02:22.13]and then started from scratch again
[02:24.35]I think just for title track demos alone
[02:26.10]we made 15, or 20
[02:28.75]Originally, it was more like
[02:30.79]not the usual Stray Kids style
[02:32.100]but the more popular mainstream pop style that people are familiar with
[02:37.57]We wanted to make popular music with a slight touch of the SKZ style
[02:41.66]but after we were finished
[02:43.84]the music didn't feel like Stray Kids' music
[02:46.04]It felt like the music wouldn't live up to our fan's standards
[02:51.80]So we started back from square one
[02:53.64]and added a dash of mainstream music into classic Stray Kids style music
[02:57.87]Like a dash of easy listening?
[02:59.81]That's how we started to work on the album
[03:02.60]That's why it ended up taking a while
[03:04.20]and we covered a broad spectrum of music
[03:09.36]We took the longest to pick this title track
[03:12.30]Since our debut
[03:15.46]the title track we contemplated on the most and decided upon was "Chk Chk Boom"
[03:18.59]Thinking about everyone who has liked us so far
[03:22.46]I thought, "why do we need to change our style?"
[03:26.09]I think we picked the song that we're the most confident in
[03:28.13]We tried a lot of different things
[03:31.36]and I watched 3RACHA struggle through everything right by their side
[03:37.35]When you think about music production
[03:40.27]in the videos we upload
[03:44.28]we share a lot of our cool and artistic side
[03:47.55]but when we're actually working on an album
[03:49.63]we get to the point where we look pretty exhausted in the studio
[03:53.25]so much that we can't capture it on screen
[03:56.46]Ideally, it would be great
[04:00.48]if things worked out smoothly, and of course there are cases like that
[04:05.04]but because a lot of thought goes into these
[04:08.52]most of the time, that's not the case
[04:11.42]Especially when working on our title track
[04:12.98]If I were to explain the process
[04:14.65]we have a deadline for the title track
[04:17.48]During that time, we make around
[04:19.11]four or five demos and submit them
[04:22.57]I've mentioned that we've been working on this album since last year
[04:25.82]I think we had about four of those deadlines
[04:29.96]So we had one submission then
[04:31.45]and thought we could do better, so we submitted another one
[04:36.14]We thought we could do better again and submitted even more
[04:38.98]We had a lot of that going on
[04:40.89]We kept making edits within those
[04:43.48]We made like six versions of one song
[04:46.28]"MOUNTAINS", "JJAM"
[04:51.71]and "I Like It," which are all on the current track list
[04:53.54]along with "Stray Kids" were all made in that process
[04:54.99]We have more songs that weren't included
[04:58.46]A lot
[04:59.46]But it was hard to pick which songs we'd include this album
[05:02.41]They're all good songs
[05:04.45]I'm sure 3RACHA mentioned this
[05:06.07]but title track-quality songs ended up as our B-sides
[05:11.13]We actually wanted to have our comeback a lot sooner than this
[05:13.37]I think we took a while because we had that process
[05:18.52]I'm sorry to STAY in that regard
[05:21.99]but it was for a better album
[05:26.33]so I'm confident that STAY will like this album
[05:30.04]
[05:30.32]I think "Chk Chk Boom" is my favorite
[05:33.43]We have a lot of nice songs in this album
[05:37.06]
[05:38.09]but when you listen to this song
[05:41.68]you'd think, "wow, nothing beats this as the title"
[05:44.82]It has that clear presence
[05:47.86]As for "Chk Chk Boom"
[05:49.55]we made it through a song camp system
[05:52.46]"Let's make something like this"
[05:54.22]Usually, we make agreements like that in advance and begin our song camps
[05:56.92]but for "Chk Chk Boom", we didn't have that
[06:00.04]I think we just threw it out there
[06:02.38]"Let's keep it minimal"
[06:04.53]"Let's just keep it minimalistic"
[06:05.98]The members like Latin music nowadays
[06:09.68]and of course, they like hip hop
[06:11.54]We told that to the track maker that night
[06:14.10]and the next day, I think they made
[06:17.62]a rough riff of about eight measures
[06:20.04]So we were like, "let's go with this"
[06:22.57]and then Changbin just went
[06:23.89]and started singing a top line, which ended up being the hook
[06:27.89]Bang Chan took the mic next and then made the pre-hook
[06:30.80]This was a type of relaxed singing
[06:32.77]that we hadn't tried for our previous titles
[06:35.98]but not too loose, as in it still had energy
[06:39.82]I think it's a song that has all of that
[06:41.97]That's "Chk Chk Boom"
[06:43.24]We just had a rough recording
[06:45.29]forgot about it and then was like
[06:47.21]"huh? Let's try completing this"
[06:48.61]and that ended up being "Chk Chk Boom"
[06:51.47]"As expected, going with the flow"
[06:56.31]"makes good results"
[06:59.38]"Don't think too hard, let's just do what we want to do"
[07:03.89]"Let's just do it" and then
[07:06.29]the fundamentals turned out great
[07:07.74]so we added a bit more K-pop elements there
[07:10.16]and started to arrange the song
[07:12.63]That's how it became our title track
[07:13.92]It was originally a very minimalistic hip-hop song
[07:16.87]"Chk Chk Boom" had a lot of versions
[07:20.46]The sketch at first was really rough, or very raw
[07:23.20]We had v2-1, v2-2, v3, v3-2...
[07:30.35]The track itself was really minimal at first
[07:33.43]I loved it
[07:34.98]but I wanted more flavor to it
[07:38.93]and 3RACHA knew that, so made arrangements with composers
[07:43.40]and when we heard it, it was great
[07:45.60]I knew "I want this to be the title"
[07:48.15]I even sent Changbin a text
[07:51.12]that I wanted this to be our title track
[07:53.10]At first, the title wasn't "Chk Chk Boom"
[07:55.80]The phrase "Boom Boom Chk Chk Boom"
[07:59.34]was very memorable for people that heard it for the first time
[08:03.96]so we ended up changing the title
[08:06.27]It has that control and that hoarseness
[08:10.60]I feel like it may be hard to imagine
[08:13.75]that we're going to go on stage with this kind of song as our title
[08:19.20]We eased up a bit this time
[08:22.39]but not too much
[08:24.59]We had to find a middle ground with the songs we'd performed so far
[08:28.75]and an upgraded version of ourselves
[08:31.45]and I think that's what we struggled with
[08:34.07]I think I tried to make my rap less hardcore but not too much less
[08:38.40]It's not like "ah!" when you hear it
[08:41.42]I eased up a bit but
[08:44.58]I think it's the best rap I could write for that song
[08:49.26]I have quite a memorable part in the first verse
[08:53.01]I tried to tone down on my style
[08:54.81]and made it sound more like rap
[08:57.57]For the vocal members
[08:59.06]this song honestly isn't one where you're belting notes
[09:01.65]I.N and Seungmin did great recording
[09:06.40]There are new voices that'll have you going, "who's this?"
[09:09.75]We tried to do that
[09:11.81]Personally, for the hook, Felix
[09:14.95]along with Hyunjin
[09:16.45]the members in charge of that, did well in terms of enunciation and feel
[09:21.12]- Listen to the guide first - Okay
[09:22.52]
[09:25.94]Okay, I got the vibes
[09:27.08]
[09:29.85]It doesn't match the vibe
[09:31.87]I'll go again
[09:33.23]
[09:33.54]I'm sorry
[09:34.97]
[09:36.38]but for the last "Boom Boom Chk Chk Boom"
[09:38.49]No
[09:39.87]- No - No, do I connect it?
[09:41.68]- No - Why?
[09:43.18]No, you can do better
[09:45.11]Okay
[09:46.30]- This guy... - You can do this
[09:47.86]Okay, I'll go again
[09:48.92]
[09:59.82]See, I knew you'd make it!
[10:00.93]
[10:01.39]I like the choreography for the chorus most
[10:05.75]I felt that I can express
[10:09.11]different expressions and parts of my character well
[10:10.93]because my part is in verse one while Felix's is in verse two
[10:13.72]but we dance in completely different styles
[10:15.46]I think that'll be really cool
[10:20.46]Felix's tone is naturally low
[10:24.72]so there's this wow factor in verse two
[10:30.33]and he also has a really solid dance part
[10:34.25]that I told Felix "wow, you're literally so cool"
[10:37.64]I said that repeatedly
[10:39.48]So I'm looking forward to performing
[10:41.86]My part in the first verse is more light
[10:45.04]since that's the kind of character I like
[10:48.02]I think that sudden change in charm
[10:50.22]is cool to see, so that's why I like it
[10:53.69]
[10:56.77]There's a bit of a lay back rhythm
[10:59.26]The performance itself doesn't look difficult
[11:03.50]but that doesn't mean it's easy
[11:04.71]The choreography kind of makes the thighs burn
[11:07.13]but I think making it look easy
[11:08.82]is great this time
[11:12.27]because we have to look a bit relaxed
[11:14.06]show off our own style
[11:16.24]and simply riding the rhythm
[11:17.58]is important in the choreography
[11:19.80]It's fun
[11:20.63]We haven't done this style of choreography, so it's fun to try it
[11:23.84]
[11:24.15]I love HAN's part
[11:26.44]and Changbin's part in verse two
[11:27.69]There's a part where we go over them
[11:30.86]and that's just fun
[11:32.24]I think the final chorus has its own charm
[11:35.81]I can't really pick a best part
[11:39.38]That's how good the choreography is
[11:41.45]I think it turned out nice this time
[11:42.91]Being in the US, away from where we usually practice
[11:47.09]us being in a new place made the process even more fun
[11:48.96]When you're dancing, the lighting
[11:50.78]atmosphere, and outfit are all important
[11:53.52]You need all of those to work together to look a bit better while dancing
[11:56.01]so we were like "let's all wear sunglasses this time!"
[11:58.88]"Let's practice in sunglasses!"
[12:00.93]So everyone brought a pair of sunglasses
[12:03.64]
[12:09.74]The eight of us
[12:11.48]
[12:12.43]are going to practice in sunglasses
[12:16.87]
[13:25.50]Oh, there's this kicking part
[13:27.82]and my shoe flew off one time
[13:31.38]It's because I danced too hard
[13:33.23]When we heard we would be filming our music video in the US
[13:37.29]all the members shared their opinions
[13:41.70]For us, the process of preparing for it
[13:43.99]was a big project for us
[13:46.46]so we wanted to have a tight schedule
[13:52.63]in the US, even if we went a bit overboard
[13:55.56]We were pretty nervous
[13:57.54]but when we filmed the music video
[13:59.54]we had a lot of different elements
[14:01.77]and I think we were able to capture
[14:03.87]the fun, catchy aspects that we're good at
[14:07.41]and ultimately ended up with a great music video
[14:09.26]On day one, it was decided that we would film in an alley
[14:13.26]and I was all excited to film
[14:16.26]but that part got leaked to the public
[14:18.91]It was different than the environment I was used to
[14:22.12]We filmed our choreography on a big road
[14:24.94]and considering the circumstances, we couldn't turn the music on out loud
[14:27.58]so we used in-ear devices
[14:29.64]but since there's a bit of distance between the speakers and in-ears
[14:33.84]the in-ears kept getting cut off
[14:37.70]Bang Chan sang the song
[14:42.50]so we were able to synchronize our choreography
[14:45.37]That's the most memorable part
[14:46.75]When you first watch the music video
[14:50.74]the song itself may not feel that raw
[14:54.59]It may seem unique and modern
[14:58.64]"Chk Chk Boom" suits all backgrounds
[15:02.99]Each and every spot
[15:04.16]I think the music video shoot made me
[15:07.32]look forward to the finished result
[15:09.48]A big figure, who's already very busy,
[15:15.12]made time to help us out in our music video
[15:19.55]It was my first time meeting him in person
[15:21.58]and he was really cool
[15:23.31]Just being able to watch him act in person
[15:28.37]was really cool
[15:30.20]Although he's a famous actor, he said he'd make time
[15:34.73]to appear on our music video
[15:37.39]His acting was great as well
[15:39.21]so that was memorable
[15:40.97]I was very touched
[15:42.49]I'm really confident about this song
[15:44.36]and the performance, I mean, all of us are like that
[15:46.64]We're excited to perform on stage
[15:49.02]Through this song, I think our message to the world
[15:50.80]is how Stray Kids is achieving their goal
[15:54.10]and what their confidence in achieving anything is
[15:57.93]I hope this song gives you all a confidence boost
[16:01.38]and I hope you're all able
[16:03.15]to aim for your goals
[16:05.94]that you have
[16:07.80]
[16:08.35]I'm looking forward to "MOUNTAINS"
[16:10.17]but it sounds like a classic Stray Kids song
[16:12.04]
[16:12.61]When imagining the stage
[16:15.56]it felt like a title track
[16:17.07]It's very grand when you hear it
[16:19.56]It sets the mood as the first track
[16:23.12]and it's a song that holds our story
[16:26.74]"We'll eat and leave no crumbs at the top"
[16:28.42]I think it relays that message well
[16:31.90]I think "MOUNTAINS" is the perfect first track
[16:34.91]
[16:35.44]I think it was on the easier side for me when recording
[16:38.80]Singing low but loud
[16:41.66]is when I'm most comfortable
[16:43.31]I think I was really me during recording
[16:45.58]Wait
[16:46.88]I'm going to take off my beanie
[16:48.42]
[16:49.03]Nice, you look cool
[16:50.20]
[16:59.56]That was close
[17:00.62]We can keep this one as well
[17:02.10]
[17:03.72]I think you can lessen it a bit
[17:05.13]Yes, I need to do that
[17:06.32]
[17:12.17]It's like a sphere made with steel
[17:15.90]It's supposed to be a punishment, but for Stray Kids
[17:18.83]"this is a walk in the park"
[17:20.13]I think that's the message it holds
[17:22.37]We had a scene where we climbed a pyramid
[17:26.93]We were lip syncing on top of the pyramid
[17:29.94]It was a bit scary
[17:31.74]but listening to the song gave me confidence
[17:34.71]and I pretended I wasn't scared
[17:36.98]It was really scary
[17:38.63]
[17:39.79]I think that's a scene
[17:41.18]that showcases the essence of "MOUNTAINS"
[17:44.35]I personally like that scene the most
[17:47.05]It's kind of like "Anthem"
[17:50.24]I think it's a great song
[17:51.74]that we can sing at concerts
[17:53.76]and STAY can sing along
[17:56.12]When imagining that
[17:58.05]I can picture the crowd singing and us making our grand entrance
[18:04.21]I want to do something like that, something on a bigger scale
[18:08.23]Just thinking about it sounds fun
[18:10.04]and I'm already looking forward to it
[18:12.06]
[18:13.60]As for "JJAM"
[18:14.98]I think it's the most Stray Kids-style song
[18:18.55]I think it's a bit too much SKZ
[18:21.95]But that's why it's nice
[18:23.34]
[18:24.25]"JJAM"?
[18:25.26]I think
[18:26.42]3RACHA
[18:27.84]put in everything they couldn't in "Chk Chk Boom"
[18:31.68]into "JJAM" instead
[18:33.99]You can really get into the song
[18:36.21]You won't get stressed thinking
[18:38.80]"why did they write it like this?" when you listen to the song
[18:41.73]I think it's Stray Kids' representative easy listening song
[18:45.05]Once you're done listening to it
[18:48.55]it'll feel like you just got hit on the head
[18:52.02]All the electronic sounds, the synthesizer
[18:55.26]and MIDI combined
[18:58.25]I wasn't having fun back then
[19:00.07]Simply put, I was in a rut
[19:02.93]I made the song in hope that I didn't lose the fun I used to have
[19:07.07]"JJAM" was actually also a song we were considering as our title
[19:08.96]The song was done probably last year
[19:10.65]When we picked "LALALALA" to be our title track
[19:14.43]we contemplated between these two most
[19:18.55]It ended up being a B-side this time
[19:21.08]We had said to each other often
[19:23.83]that "promoting this song would be fun"
[19:25.83]We have RACHA units, right?
[19:27.46]We have 3RACHA, DANCERACHA, and VOCALRACHA
[19:29.83]I think it'll be easy if you think about it
[19:32.76]as a RACHA jam
[19:34.40]You have the rappers, singers, dancers
[19:38.08]and sections in the song where they introduce their team
[19:41.24]All of that is reflected in the performance
[19:46.39]so I think it'll be a fun stage
[19:49.46]For "JJAM", the title itself sounds a bit sticky
[19:52.81]and on the spot
[19:54.42]That goes for both the title and the music itself
[19:56.29]I think that's why we also tried to make the rap part sound like that too
[19:58.98]It's not just "jam"
[20:00.53]but pronounced like "JJAM!"
[20:02.73]That sticky pronunciation
[20:03.77]I tried to pick pronunciations similar to that in the rap parts
[20:07.57]I kept thinking about how our members would record it when I arranged the song
[20:10.96]As for 2RACHA
[20:13.16]we used to have a lot of rap parts where we were exchanging parts
[20:16.39]We wanted to show off 2RACHA's chemistry
[20:18.26]so we made the back and forth a bit more complex
[20:21.10]For example, if our exchanges were in phrases before
[20:23.86]we'd exchange two words each
[20:25.41]or word after word
[20:27.28]VOCALRACHA's jam is really pretty
[20:29.70]It really eases your ears
[20:32.21]I heard producer Bang Chan's favorite part
[20:36.38]is also VOCALRACHA's part
[20:38.45]He's the one who wrote it
[20:39.84]Anyway, in midst of all the chaos
[20:44.35]we have a segment to show off
[20:46.04]I think the "Meongppangz" lovers
[20:48.99]will really enjoy the part
[20:50.99]When you look at each RACHA unit part
[20:54.52]I think you can see their style
[20:57.08]For Dance RACHA, the three of us stay on stage
[21:00.29]I imagined how fun it's going to be
[21:02.05]to organize the performance
[21:03.85]
[21:04.14]This was also a runner-up for our title track
[21:07.24]We tried to make this song our title track
[21:11.62]and this music was created from those new attempts
[21:13.84]You'll know when you hear it
[21:14.74]Popular with a dash of SKZ
[21:15.57]Popular with a dash of SKZ
[21:16.93]We made this through our song camp as well
[21:18.38]The song was originally called "Jelly Leg"
[21:20.96]It had a peculiar riff
[21:22.12]
[21:22.82]Something like this
[21:24.43]that had your legs feel like jelly
[21:26.32]The song started with that kind of sound effect
[21:30.42]I thought "this is a hip hop song"
[21:32.83]but it had a very pop-like chord progression
[21:35.73]and in between
[21:36.64]it had those jelly leg sound effects
[21:39.91]That was really weird
[21:41.52]and I thought "if we work on this, we could make a great song with it"
[21:45.26]so that's how we got working on it
[21:46.84]I think STAY will have fun analyzing the lyrics
[21:51.31]STAY likes love stories
[21:54.34]since it's something we usually don't work with
[21:56.52]I don't know why
[21:57.82]but when we have B-sides that are love songs
[22:02.68]a lot of the time, the protagonist isn't a good guy
[22:05.30]I think STAY kind of enjoys that
[22:09.28]since it has storytelling involved
[22:10.60]"Let's make the protagonist really bad this time"
[22:13.59]One who goes, "I don't want to love"
[22:15.57]"but I like that tension of having a fling"
[22:19.09]One who is not interested in going further
[22:21.83]It has a very clear theme
[22:23.54]and I didn't have any input
[22:24.78]because I'm nice
[22:26.01]
[22:26.96]It was out of our imaginations too
[22:28.50]
[22:28.86]so we...
[22:29.88]I hope you don't think "these guys are bad guys"
[22:32.48]That feeling before falling in love
[22:35.23]It's about wanting to retain that exciting, new feeling
[22:38.38]"Let's just keep this fling going, I like this"
[22:41.92]That's what the lyrics are about
[22:44.51]People might be able to relate, or they might not
[22:47.61]but I think they'll be able to relate...
[22:49.39]
[22:50.23]It makes no sense
[22:51.40]No, it just makes no sense
[22:52.74]I really don't understand
[22:54.48]Is that what love is?
[22:55.82]What is that?
[22:57.11]It just makes no sense
[22:58.66]It don't get it at all
[23:00.19]"I like this skit"
[23:01.93]"If you cross that line, I'm just going to leave without looking back"
[23:05.36]That's one of my verses
[23:07.41]
[23:08.11]I don't really like that verse
[23:09.46]I can't relate to it at all
[23:10.75]The lyrics I relate to the most
[23:12.58]is what I always tell STAY, which is "I like It"
[23:15.59]It's been a while with "Runners, " like last year
[23:20.58]That's when we recorded it
[23:21.99]Bang Chan asked me to help out
[23:23.97]since he had to prepare demos
[23:26.45]"Okay! Of course I can help"
[23:30.17]Felix kept giving me ideas
[23:32.50]on how the melody should sound
[23:34.24]so we talked a lot about effects while making the song as well
[23:39.06]When we had the running appearance at MAMA
[23:43.20]We start our "MANIAC" performance at MAMA by running on stage
[23:47.38]It was a memorable image
[23:51.52]"SKZ is always running"
[23:54.19]We're going to keep running, whether we're in the city or at the desert
[23:57.93]We're going to run together
[23:59.14]I think that was the image in my head
[24:00.66]We're at a cliff
[24:01.86]and we're just running on the edge
[24:05.62]We might fall, we might stumble
[24:08.16]and we may even die
[24:09.76]but despite all that, we're still running
[24:13.70]I think that's the image I had in mind when we made "Runners"
[24:16.01]The melody is deep and spectacular
[24:19.44]It's been a while since we had a B- side with this kind of energy
[24:24.76]It has a fast melody
[24:25.94]there are clear changes in rhythm, so it was a bit difficult to sing
[24:29.73]But it was really fun
[24:31.09]- Seungmin, we'll keep that for now, nice - Okay
[24:32.74]
[24:37.73]I liked the way you sang "take it"
[24:39.44]
[24:39.91]- I think "edgy" was a bit too long - Okay
[24:41.85]- Let's go again - Okay
[24:43.14]
[24:47.67]Good job!
[24:48.77]As the singer, how was it?
[24:50.12]- I want to go again - Again? Okay
[24:51.72]The theme for "Runners"
[24:55.40]was very cyber punk
[24:57.22]I wanted to give it cyborg, robotic vibes, so we added "Winter Soldier"
[25:02.08]For "L" and "W"
[25:04.84]I wanted to write lyrics with it
[25:06.61]Testing myself is an "L"
[25:11.58]Even with that "L"
[25:14.00]when you combine two L's, you get a W, like this
[25:16.90]"We're going to win"
[25:18.18]That's what the lyrics mean
[25:20.61]"twilight"
[25:21.92]
[25:23.22]HAN wrote the song
[25:24.54]When I first heard this song
[25:25.57]
[25:26.19]"This song sounds perfect to listen to during the evening"
[25:29.16]I personally loved it
[25:30.83]because this album as a whole has a lot of strong and fierce songs
[25:36.54]so I think it's a refreshing song in comparison to those
[25:40.23]
[25:41.56]I think I wrote this song two years ago
[25:44.79]Simply put, it's an emotional song
[25:47.54]Back when I was a night owl and liked the late night vibes
[25:52.52]the best lyrics I wrote went into this song
[25:54.27]While STAY listens to this song
[25:56.21]I don't want them to look for a specific meaning behind it
[25:58.50]The protagonist is always sad
[26:01.00]I am aware that whenever I write songs
[26:03.95]STAY always thinks about
[26:06.70]what kind of emotional state I'm in
[26:08.81]on a deep level
[26:11.12]and that made me a bit sad at times
[26:14.22]At times
[26:15.63]There are songs that aren't like that
[26:17.34]
[26:17.94]so I hope you listen with a light heart
[26:21.17]
[26:21.81]I think it's another song
[26:24.67]that shows my timidness
[26:26.71]To describe my situation back then
[26:28.87]this might sound funny
[26:31.46]but I had a bad case of celebrity ego
[26:33.80]Whenever I'm in a room
[26:35.86]and this always happens when I'm in the studio
[26:38.35]I go, "I'm going to make a hit song here"
[26:41.19]I had that pressure back then
[26:43.89]so I think it's a song that captures my wish
[26:48.24]that this song is a good song
[26:51.74]When STAY listen to it
[26:53.72]I hope you think "this is a song"
[26:58.59]"that really captures 23 year old HAN's emotions"
[27:00.51]HAN has a signature vocal style
[27:04.04]I can't explain it in words
[27:05.93]I think each song has a part
[27:11.46]where that's emphasized
[27:13.45]The last part of the chorus is always different
[27:16.62]The first one is just "twilight"
[27:18.05]In the second chorus, it follows a different beat
[27:21.46]and at the final chorus, we stretch out the final part
[27:25.33]I think those aspects
[27:27.84]is the highlight of this song
[27:30.14]I always feel this, but when HAN is directing
[27:33.31]he needs to feel the emotions that the song is to evoke
[27:36.10]for the song to come alive
[27:38.28]He focuses on the feelings
[27:40.66]
[27:41.93]Do you want to do one take or what do you want to do?
[27:43.46]
[27:43.76]I'll do whatever you want me to do
[27:45.48]Okay
[27:46.38]Then we'll do it in one go
[27:48.93]I thought I erased it but I cry whenever I think about you
[27:54.67]When I wake up from a restless sleep
[27:58.28]- First of all - Huh?
[27:59.70]- There's too much sound - Okay
[28:02.34]- Make it a bit more breathy - I'll make it more breathy
[28:04.61]I thought I erased it but I cry whenever I think about you
[28:10.37]When I wake up from a restless sleep
[28:13.98]Wow, such a good singer, wait
[28:16.38]Can you make it a little bit more breathy?
[28:19.57]Erased
[28:21.17]- Nice - Okay
[28:22.38]I think he's always supporting you
[28:24.73]I like his light, calm voice
[28:27.59]that eases you up to sing
[28:31.04]Now I sound like a pervert
[28:32.26]
[28:35.14]Good job
[28:36.49]- I love ...........
