(I) Some countries either do not want immigrants or are selective about whom they will admit. (II) Immigrants who can speak the language of their new country find it much easier to adjust than those who cannot. (III) Whatever language they speak, however, newcomers usually seek homes where their countrymen have already settled. (IV) The reason for this is that they believe they'll face the fewest personal adjustments there. (V) Some immigrant groups, by choice or necessity, even form their own small communities and do not mix with the other residents.
