(I) The philosophical and scientific approach of the British cancer establishment is frighteningly narrow. (II) Its interest in researching environmental or chemical causes of cancer appears negligible. (III) There are over 600 cancer charities in the U.K. and they make up a million pound industry. (IV) The great weight of its research is concerned with the unraveling of the human genome in the hope that this will provide the solution to all human illnesses, cancer included. (V) They seem to forget the fact that no more than five percent of cancers are considered to be hereditary.
