(I) Gravity has always been regarded by scientists as the most important force in the universe. (II) Cosmic expansion was triggered by the Big Bang 15 billion years ago. (Ill) They also believed that gravity was gradually slowing down cosmic expansion. (IV) Recently, however, there is evidence to suggest that the universal expansion is actually accelerating. (V) If this is so, then it would seem that gravity is actually being opposed by an even more powerful cosmic force.
