(I) The future may seem bright to you but most of the recent science-fiction works are suspicious about it. (II) While some science-fiction works portray a future with negative aspects, others are much more optimistic about it. (Ill) For instance, according to many science-fiction works, such as novels and films, cities will become intolerable living spaces in the future. (IV) Pollution and congestion will make transportation almost impossible even in open seas and seemingly infinite skies. (V) Immigration and population growth will also make social life much more chaotic and, needless to say, crime will be commonplace.
