(I) As a literary trend, Romanticism was the chief movement of the nineteenth century. (II) Literary trends are interesting in that they do not come into being with a prior plan in mind. (Ill) Even their titles are given centuries after they are over and they are more like the summary of a period. (IV) In other words they tell us what the intellectuals and artists think in that specific period. (V) It is quite interesting to know that most of these people don't know that they are Romantics, Realists or Impressionists.
