The Napa DAV311 MP3 CD player is an update to the Napa DAV310, and the company has made a few minor improvements, the most notable of which is an improved (yet still not perfect) antiskip feature. We liked the rechargeable battery, the remote control, and, most interestingly, the ability to play VCDs on a TV. Unfortunately, its inability to play VCDs with only batteries and the lack of song-title display detract from these attractive extras. The Napa sports a handy, wireless, credit card-sized remote and a composite video cable that plugs right into your TV, letting you watch movies in the VCD format (which is especially-popular in Asia but also available online in the West). The DAV311 can also display abbreviated filenames for the disc's songs on your television. The unit runs on either AC power or an included, rechargeable battery. Due to all of these , facts, this device might best be used as part of a home theatre/stereo system rather than as a portable device.
